Bloomfield Genealogy

by Terrie Lynn Bittner

This section traces the genealogy of Ezekial Bloomfield, husband of Hope FitzRandolph.

Much of my information on Ezekial comes from this source, which I have read but don't own:

Vital Records of Woodbridge, Middlesex County, NJ
Extracted from The Story of a New Jersey Town
by Rev. Joseph W. DALLY
New Brunswick, N. J.
1873

According to the town records at Woodbridge, Book A, p. 219, Ezekiel Bloomfield was elected a Deputy to the Colonial Assembly on January 1, 1687. He is listed in a few records, largely involving land sales, as a carpenter and a wheelwright.

There is a mystery in this family. A family member was in charge of the town records and listed a daughter named Rebecca. One Rebecca died young, but the other one grew up and married. She is my direct ancestor. However, she is not in her father's will, even though she was only nine when her father died. To learn more about my work on this problem, see The Search for Rebecca Bloomfield.

Following are the few pages I have on this family so far:
