FitzRandolph Genealogy

by Terrie Lynn Bittner

This is a popular genealogy family. Edward FitzRandolph and Elizabeth Blossom were Pilgrims, as we call them today. Edward came to Massachusetts from England with the Winthrop fleet. Elizabeth was the child of Thomas Blossom and his wife, Anne. Her parents, followers of John Robinson, went with the Separatists to Holland, and her father and brother set out to travel to Plymouth on the Mayflower. However, after the Speedwell, which carried them from Holland to England, developed vast troubles, they returned to Holland. They were unable to reach Plymouth until 1629, when Elizabeth was about nine years old. This story will be told here in greater detail later.

The cemetery where Edward and Elizabeth are believed to be buried, and where some of their children are buried, is now a historic site in New Jersey. Click here to read the sign. (Note: This may be slow loading, but I wanted it large enough to read easily.)

This is the town where Elizabeth and Edward last lived.

I have this book. Bradford mentions Elizabeth's father several times and speaks kindly of him when mentioning his death.
